Created through months of drawing, this pen work depicts a hanok above stone steps and small wildflowers among the rocks. The artist’s accompanying words reflect on the small living things and architectural curves revealed through sustained attention.

Artist’s words
Without hurrying, I drew line after line over several months. Along the way I noticed small wildflowers blooming between rocks I might otherwise have passed, and became interested in tiny living things I would not have known without looking closely. The hanok, with curves throughout, reminded me of our lives: seemingly disorderly, yet possessing their own order. As I gave it time and heart, the lines became rocks, wildflowers between the rocks, and a hanok standing above stone steps.
