An Alley in Samcheong-dong
삼청동의 어느 골목길
Searching for a less familiar view of Samcheong-dong, the artist happened upon this alley on the walk home. A large old tree, stone steps and an aged house at the end of the narrow lane became the subject of the drawing.
Artist’s words
I walked around for half a day, looking for a scene to draw in Samcheong-dong. Although the neighborhood naturally brings hanok to mind, I wanted to capture a less familiar side of it. But I could not find a place that felt right, and eventually gave up and turned for home. On my weary walk back, a narrow lane happened to catch my eye. Following it, I came upon a large old tree, stone steps, and an old house.
